My Content Marketing World 2017 Expectations

It’s my second year at Content Marketing World and I’m already so delighted I have this opportunity. I come to represent one of my clients and myself so I can make connections and learn, but I expect to come away with so much more.

So, I come to this year’s CMWorld, with high hopes.  And as much as I like to think that I am a free-spirited gal, ready to go with the flow, I’m not.  I’m coming with a plan.  I expect to get more and give more than last year.  Here’s what I’ve got up my sleeve:

Video Series: Heart of Marketing

After Fine Point, my digital marketing podcast, disbanded, I’ve been struggling with what is next for me.  I wanted to find something that it really dug into the human spirit.  As I was listening to Slack’s Podcast, Work in Progress, I absolutely loved the way they put their mission at the heart of their podcast.  They braided, content marketing with their mission and culture to create an incredibly effective and relatable podcast that absorbed me into a worker’s world.

I’m trying to parlay that idea, the fundamental representation of a mission in ways that add pure value to the customer experience, into my next project.  As the the fundamentals of what I’m about takes shape, I want to highlight (and learn about) what makes marketers and growth agents in companies tick.

So, I expect to learn more about the marketers who are so passionate about what they do.  That’s why, if you see me around, I’ll be asking marketers “Why do you do what you do?” I want to know more about you. I’ll turn that into a video blog series that turns into a video gallery that gets at the heart of what makes a marketer tick. 

Session: Content to Community

As my flight starts its descent, the butterflies start acting up.  I’m kicking off our panel-like speaking engagement with a short dialogue that will help set up the magic we’ve created as a group.  Many years of webinar moderation, podcasting, and speaking have set me up for this: a speaking opportunity at one of the most exciting conferences that I’ve ever had the pleasure of coming to.  And this one is going to be good.
